I visited the maternity ward for my birth.
I was overdue so went was asked to come in for an induction. I was told to ring at 8 In the morning and I was told that they will call me when a bed is available. I waited all day but did not receive a call till 5 pm. I did call A few times but was rudely told that they were other people waiting aswell.
Pre natal care was good I have to admit, the student nurse was very compationate and helpful. I had complications so I had a c section. The service after this completely changed, even thinking about the service makes me cry. No one should be treated the way I was. I lost a lot of blood due to the operation and I was very weak. The nurses only came once in the day to check on me. I had to ask several times for pain killers and would still not receive them. If I rang the bell to ask for help I would be told off for being in bed,
the nurses would say they they haven’t seen me move around (well if u came to check on me u would know that I had been moving around all day, its 8pm what do u expect me to do?). I was in hospital for 6 days but my sheets did not get changed in that time, me and my sister would ask everyday eventually my sister had to change my sheets. The worst bit about my stay was when my baby vomited all over the sheets in the cot and I needed clean sheets, I rang the bell and asked them to get me clean cot sheets and I was told to do it myself, my baby was very upset and crying, I got really upset and asked them to do it as I didn’t know where to put my baby while changing the sheets, the nurse did change the sheets but acted as if it was a great burden. One night when I visited the toilet there was no toilet roll I asked for toilet roll and told they me they will replace it and to visit another toilet, i was bleeding heavily so I had to visit frequently, all night I visited the different toilets in the ward and kept asking for the toilet roll to be really replaced. By 9 none of the toilets had loo roll at this point I had enough and got angry and they replaced the loo roll. There are so many other little examples but it would take me forever to write it all up. The nurses are so rude when u ask them when u will be discharged they are so rude and do not give you any indormation. Try and avoid at any cost.
All my friends who have visited this hospital have had a really bad experience!
"Worst service ever!!"
