"Dirty toilets"

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

I visited the hospital today and had an occasion to visit the gents toilet on the ground floor.

It was a most unwelcome experience as the toilets were not clean. There was signs of urine on the floor, discarded paper and the grab rails had a white streak running all over them. No hook on the door and no sign to say when they had been last cleaned. As an out patient this makes me wonder what the wards are like. This is clearly an issue especially with regard to 'infection control' as visitors to the hospital may visit a ward or be treated as an outpatient in a consulting room.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on NHS Choices.

I am sorry to read that the toilets were unclean when you visited them.

I can fully appreciate your concerns and have passed on your feedback to our housekeeping staff for them to action this immediately.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
