"Can't get a response"

About: Sexual health services

(as the patient),

The walk in centre at the Hathersage Centre is a great facility and the staff are understanding and non-judgemental, and although the waits can be long you will get seen within a few hours at most, but it has been 3 weeks and I have not heard anything from my screening and when I call it is engaged constantly on the 0161 701  1555 number and a dead line on 0161 276 5200 number.

People using this service are generally worried and anxiously waiting on results so after 3 weeks it would be nice to have someone answer the phone at least. I understand the service is busy but I would not even be calling had my results been passed on to me. No phone call, text or an old-fashioned letter so I am assuming it is good news but until I know my results I can't help but be nervous.

Good or bad, I just want to know my results!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our service. We were pleased to hear that you were happy with your experience when you attended clinic. The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Services team always strive to improve patient experience and satisfaction, so your feedback is appreciated.

We try to provide test results to our patient within two weeks. The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Services team apologise for the regrettable delay you have experienced whilst waiting for your results. This is something that we continue to work on and your feedback will help us in this improvement work. It has been identified that it can be difficult to contact reception by telephone due to the volume of calls we receive and we are therefore in the process of increasing the number of reception staff.

It is difficult to respond to your post in full due to the lack of detailed information provided. If you would like to discuss your experience with us in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk quoting reference number PO17/0195.
