On Saturday 23rd September I began to feel unwell at home. Sweaty/clammy a feeling of pressure on my sternum (no pain), light headed and dizzy (almost fainting). As the symptoms did not resolve after 1/2 hour I called an ambulance. I was taken to NMH A&E Department. The paramedics were excellent the A&E Doctor was also very thorough.
I had repeated tests done, and a heart attack was ruled out, but experienced extremely high blood pressure and a fast resting heart rate which took almost 4 hours to resolve.
The A&E Doctor said she was referring me to the rapid access chest pain clinic and I should be seen within 2 weeks, but that if I hadn't been contacted in 1 week I should phone the hospital.
I called a staff member whom I was advised was responsible for appointments on Monday 2nd October and left a message. I called again today (Friday 6th October) on both occasions leaving my contact details and asking someone to call me.
I have heard nothing from the Cardiology department nor the RA Chest Pail clinic, and I suspect that this person's phone is not monitored.
This situation is unacceptable I will be making a formal complaint which I will be copying to the CCG and should I not be contacted in the next 7 days from today's date I will make a private appointment and will be sending the bill to the Trust
