I don't use a car because using cycling / walking / public transport are better for my health and other people's.
I recently went to QA Hospital by train and cycle.
I didn't want to put my bike where it might upset people, or block access for ambulances, patients etc. So I spent some time cycling round the grounds looking for a cycle park without success.
In the end I went to reception to ask where to put it.. The man said "Are you staff? No? Well we don't have cycle sheds for the public". I explained that I wasn't looking for a shed, just the right place to park my cycle. He waved outside to a pedestrian area and said "There". There was nothing to say that it was acceptable to put cycles there.
The NHS wants people to take exercise. QA should make it very clear that they welcome people arriving by cycle. (RHCH in Winchester has a cycle shelter near the main entrance - well done to them.)
