On the 28th of September 2016 , the team of amazing neuro surgeons removed c6 disc with fusion , I sadly had complications before the surgery , and was left with no sensation in my legs , un abling me to walk . I hasten to add this was the case before surgery , and having the crumbled disc that was degenerating my spine was the only way forward . I spent 4 months in the rehabilitation hospital Frank cooksy Orpington, which I can say is fantastic and I made a fairly good recovery , came home in December last year , with the use of a wheelchair and crutches . I am happy to say that I now walk completely un aided , although still suffer the terrible pain of pins and needles in my legs and lower back , but am very hopeful that over the next few years things will continue to heel . I want to say a massive thank you to all staff at kings, on the Murray Faulkner ward in particular . But most of all a huge thank you to my surgeon , who couldn't have been more caring post op. Thank you very much to you all . Ruth Lowry.
