"A positive experience of how the OT service facilitated my recovery"

(as a service user),

Air ambulanced back to UK after a surgical repair to both my quads following an accident on holiday I was admitted to ward 2A and seen by a range of clinicians who were all knowledgeable, empathetic, full of practical suggestions and in the case of the occupational therapists, able to provide the physical resources which enabled me to move safely back into our home where I could continue  my recovery after this debilitating accident. The home assessment was carried out swiftly and the equipment I needed was delivered efficiently. As my recovery progressed and my mobility increased I was visited at home by the OT person I had contact with in hospital and additional necessary equipment was provided. The service provided was genuinely personalised, caring and enabled me to continue my recovery at home in safety.

Dear Thagl,

Ouch, that must have been very sore and very difficult for you. I suspect that will be a slow healing process but I hope you are recovering as quickly and as well as possible.

That said, I am delighted that you got all the help and support you needed, as and when you needed it. Thank you so much for telling us about your care, I will pass your gratitude on and I am sure those who were involved in your care will know who they are. (It must be a bit of a unique accident).
