"Reduced movements at 33 weeks pregnant"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as the patient),

I had reduced movements on sunday morning so i decided to call triage at wishaw general hospital.

I couldnt get through as it was constantly engaged which lead to me having to call another number and be out on hold for 28minutes till a midwife became available to talk to me.

I finally got to the hospital and was left waiting for an hour and a half as the midwifes were so busy i was finally taken into a room and then left for a further 20minutes.

I feel very anxious about giving birth here now as there just is not enough staff at all. Luckily for me all was fine with baby but it could have been a completely different story if i was left much longer or something serious was wrong.. luckily this wasn't the case but could be for other mothers to be.

I must add all the midwifes were lovely and done a great job but there stretched to the limits and something has to be done about this.

Hi Daisymillie

Thank you for your feedback regarding your call and visit to maternity triage. I was disappointed to hear about your wait time on the phone and in the unit. Would it be possible for you to give me a call tomorrow at your convenience so that you can let me know some more details? I would really appreciate your call and I was glad to hear that all was well with your baby.

I am available on 01698 361100 ext 6561

Regards

Amanda
