"Angry and disappointed"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as other),

A nasty football injury resulted in a call to 999 on a very very wet and blustery Sunday morning.  The call was answered promptly by someone in Glasgow.  Trying to get across the exact location was tricky, indeed I was asked if the location was in Aberdeen.  No it is not.  I was told the ambulance would be with us shortly.  20 minutes later with a very cold and wet child lying on the wet grass, another call was made.  And another and another and another.

One hour later the ambulance attended on a journey which should have taken 10 minutes from the Ambulance station.

This is unacceptable.

I have no confidence in the 999 call centre.  It has left me feeling very angry and very very disappointed.

Dear annoyed coach,

I am very sorry that you are unhappy with the response that you received. It must have been very distressing, especially as a child was involved.

I would like to look at this call to ensure that it was responded to as well as we would expect. It will also allow me to explain to you what happened with the response.

Please contact me on 0141 810 6101 so that I can get the details from you.

Thank you,

Pat
