"Mammogram"

About: Kettering General Hospital

This was the first mammogram I have had and it certainly did nothing to calm me or help with my natural concern.

Neither one of the nurses today (2/10/17) even looked at my face.

I had questions fired at me from a tick sheet and was told to go into a room where another nurse told me to undress to my waist.

I told the nurse that I hadn’t been before and was nervous but the nurse showed no sign of acknowledging this.

I was painfully shoved into machine with no explanations or concern.

It was an awful experience.

These members of staff could at least acknowledge they have a human in the room with them!

I understand they are busy, though I was the only one there at that time.

Terrible, I sincerely hope I do not have to return.

I am very sorry that you found your mammogram such an unpleasant experience. Breast Screening appointments are very short; we only have 6 minutes per client, so the practitioners have to work very quickly.

We do endeavour to make the experience as pleasant as possible and I am sorry that we fell short of this on this occasion, particularly as it was your first visit to us. Please be assured that your comments have been taken on board and will be shared with our team. I would be more than happy to discuss your concerns further if you would find this helpful. please call PALS and ask to speak with me. regards Deborah Black - Superintendent Radiographer
