"A very well done to all the staff"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital

(as the patient),

I damaged my left hip replacement.  The hip was replaced 8 years ago. My wife took me to Tiverton A & E. The service I received was very quick and very professional.

I was X Rayed promptly and seen by a doctor who reviewed the X Rays with me.

All was ok with the replacement hip I'm glad to say but there was some inflammation around it. I was given a prescription for pills that did the trick.

A very well done to all the staff at Tiverton A & E

Dear Bill

I am so pleased to hear that following a visit to the A&E department at Tiverton Hospital the problems you had with your left hip replacement have resolved.

I am glad you were X-rayed promptly and that the results were explained to you.

It must be reassuring for you and your wife that there was no major issue with your hip replacement and that the damage was due to an inflammation which could be treated with some tablets.

Whilst the management of the Urgent Care Centre at Tiverton Hospital is no longer managed by the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT), I have shared your comments with the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWAST) which manages this service.

Kind regards

Jayne
