"I can never thank them enough"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

My little girl  was not well. She had tummy pains hight temp. I gave her calpol. She could not lie down she was in pain.

By 7 am I was worried she hadn't slept at all. I rang a helpline and told the doctor her symtoms. She was so hot I stripped her naked I could feel her heartbeat in her tummy which I thought wasnt right. Doctor on phone said its a viral infection. Take her to badger at 9 if theres no change.

By 7. 30 my gut feeling was my child is not well. I went to heartlands were a nurse took one look and said please don't panic I need to get a doctor in here now, she is not breathing good.

A doctor came in and her oxygen was 82% not good for a child 👎 it can drop so fast. He sent us to the childrens ward. We were meet by a team of doctors nurses who acted so fast 👍 we went for a xray by the time we got back the doctor was reading results. He treated my child so well he was on nightshift and checked her every hour on the hr through that night. 👍👍 wish I remembered his name.

My child had a cold and stuff on her chest that got hard and made it hard for her to breathe. The staff at heartlands were so fast and wonderful 👍 I can never thank them enough. From badger to childrens A&E to childrens ward. They do a wonderful job every single day..

Dear Chloekittan,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responded to your posting.

Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the care and treatment your daughter received from the Badger team, Children’s A&E and the Children’s ward at Heartlands Hospital.

I pleased that your daughter was so well looked after by the teams, as I appreciate that it would have been a very worrying time for you under the circumstances.

I will forward your posting to the Badger team, together with senior management team at Heartlands Hospital and ask that it is shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be delighted to read your positive comments.

I hope my actions are acceptable and once again thank you for taking the time to provide your comments, as all feedback is very important to us.

Best wishes

Miss J. Langham
