Yesterday we called our Doctors to seek an urgent appointment following a worrying incident in the home.
Given some prior patient history that raised related concerns the doctor instead kindly arranged immediately for an ambulance to take me to Hereford County.
This arrived in commendably short order, in part due to luck but also excellent logistical coordination to bring the most sensible crew to our door in least time.
The paramedics were truly professional and efficient, but also good-natured enough to put this patient well at ease whilst conducting an assessment, before deciding it was indeed best to go to the hospital, taking a route to minimise delays.
The transfer from Ambulance to A&E was likewise very smooth, and I was treated well from arrival to departure, in particular by the nurse, though there were others, plus of course the doctor in charge and Radiology staff.
Beyond the usual tests an MRI was conducted, and fortunately showed no internal bleeding, which was a relief. Rather ironically I am awaiting another as part of an ongoing investigation yet to be concluded and which of course may be related. I did suggest that the other area was covered at the time, but sadly the procedures did not allow.
I write a day later at home still nursing a headache but very happy with the role everyone concerned played in putting the mind inside this skull to rest.
"Better safe and no longer sorrowful"
