"Disgrace"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

Well where do I start...

my partner was taking in to this hospital and stayed a total of 7 days.

Was he looked after in that time.... No

Was he fed... no!! How can you leave food in front of someone who has a broken arm and the other full of needles and drips?!

Was he washed .... No

Was he offered any help ... No

Was he spoken to about treatment... No

On one occasion I asked the nurse if he could have some cream applied to his back and Bottom ... what was I told??.. well I had the cream thrown at me and was told I had to roll him and do it myself because they were too busy,

On another occasion well after the 3rd day... it came clear and apparent that no one was even going to change the bed gown he had on, or change the sheets on his bed. I Had to do it myself.

On another occasion one of the nurses smashed his fan off the table.. was there a sorry... No ... I just had to buy another.

Lost count of how many times he didn't have a bed and was left in the corridor.

On another occasion I found half his medication under him because the nurse dropped it!!! And wouldn't give him anymore

On another occasion a nurse asked him (baring in mind he was hooked to morphien) what medication he was on because their computer had shut down,

On another occasion we'll this happened every day .. he was left with no urinal bottles and when I went and found them the nurses wouldn't even take them off me once used or tell me where to dispose of them.

On another occasion whilst trying to get some answers from the nurses on the recovery ward (after surgery) I had 2 nurses arguing in front of me as too who's patient he was... and that they had too many between them so he was left again without a ward on the corridor.

That's only a few points of when he was in their...

Now the outpatient appointments?!

What a joke!!!

No wheelchairs available to move him into the waiting room then onto the treatment room.

Missed appointments due to them not bothering to call or send a letter.

Turning up for surgery, when the doctor didn't book it in right.. took them 4 hours to work that out!!

The transport team.. well if and when they showed up was another story.

Overall I would not recommend this hospital to anyone!!!!!!!!!

And even the PALS team.. as much as the staff are nice to your face and say they can help and agree with what's going on isn't right do they do anything ? No

Funny thing was I had a conversation with a lovely nurse and they even said how bad the hospital is and how sorry they were. Including a paramedic who was present for this conversation.

Absolutely disgusted with his treatment.
