My granny sadly became very unwell and was deteriorating quickly. Mr Anderson (colorectal surgeon) and the colorectal specialist nurses at Monklands Hospital did everything possible to ensure we were seen in a timely manner and had all of the necessary investigations and support.
Unfortunately we received very bad news and my granny passed away 6 days later. When telling us the news however, Mr Anderson did this in a clear and compassionate manner and even though he had made space for us quickly in his clinic, he did not make us feel rushed in any way and took time to answer any question we had.
We managed to care for my granny at home and avoided admission to hospital as per her wishes - this was only possible due to the input and support from the district nurses at Coatbank Medical Centre.
Thank you to everyone who helped make a very sad time a little easier for us.
"Excellent care all round"
