My father attended with chest pains and a history of triple heart bypass and stent.
After a very long wait in ED he was finally admitted and spent a very cold night in AAU. During the night he asked for a blanket but told there were none spare. He spent the night in a coat laying on his bed trying to keep warm while recovery from a suspect heart attack.
He was moved to CCU and immediately offered two extra blankets by a nurse who didn't believe he had been refused one before.
He was not seen by the cardiologist until the third day. Waited nearly two hours for drugs only to find the drug chart had not been sent to pharmacy.
Had fasted for angiogram for many many hours only to be told they're not going to do it. Evening meal consisted solely of a pile of Luke warm potatoe and slice of cheese.
What a shame this hospital has become such a disorganised mess. No one seems to know or care what's going on. I work for the NHS still and have done for 15 years. WMUH needs a turnaround team sent in to tackle the basics. At no time did I feel reassured or certain my father was receiving even the most basic standards of care. Avoid where possible.
"Dreadful experience"
