"uncaring nurse"

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital / Accident and emergency

my wife was taken to this hospital by ambulance on Saturday night ( she has M,N,D, )she was taken to a cubicle and l was sitting outside behind a curtain, then the nurse was taking blood, my wife cannot talk due to progression of her disease yet due to the aggressiveness of her effort to get the blood my wife was screaming in her own way to get my attention, when l said to the nurse she never screamed even when having a lumber puncture and there was no need for them to be so rough, they replied i,ve got to get blood and have to fit a canular , l said you are not going to fit that so they went and got another nurse o fit it, who did it no problem. Whilst they were fitting device the first nurse mentioned they were going on a blood transfusion course and l thought God help those people.

When my wife was in a bay to see doctor she needed to wee and has little control over her muscles so l asked for a commode from the same nurse who said they were busy (talking ) after 20 minutes l pressed the nurse call button and it arrived a further 20 mins latter.

On discharge another nurse wheeled my wife to the car and helped me get her in and made sure she was comfortable and wished her well
