Dear all please recogniae the NHS for the outstanding establishment & expertise that they are.
I was admitted via A&E 10 days ago and now finally on the road to recovery & hopefully well enough to be discharged I want to share the ultimate respect and complete gratitute I have towards to all the staff that have caringly nursed me back to health.
So sudden swelling of a wrist joint coupled with a chronic constant headache led me to a final diagnosis of a rare auto immune disease which triggered meningitis. Ongoing lifelong treatment will prevent any flare up. I have seen every soecialist here I think, all with a caring bedside manner and gave me time to ask & understsnd the daily progress of the extensive tests. I cannot praise everyone highly enough at Queens hosital and it pains me that the NHS are under so much pressure and it is only because from the specialists to the cleaners all have an innate unity - they care, it is their lifestyle not a job not a career but a passion to help people and make them better!!!
Accident & Emergency, use it as it says on the tin...its not a walk in centre & if it is not urgent, keep it in perspective...don' t groan about insignificant ailments because when you have been as ill as I have, you appreciate things on a whole different level.
To all my specialists who will recognise who I am for my rarity, let alone a memorable name now :) ank you fro the bottom of my heart. You are all so very appreciated & I hope I was a good patient.
Warmest regards
Dawn
