"Disappointed with Dermatology Appointment"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Dermatology (Skin Conditions)

(as the patient),

I have been struggling with acne for a few years now, time in which I tried lots of topical creams, three types of antibiotic and reached the GP several times. I waited five months for my appointment to the dermatology, time in which I made lists with products I have used, I took pictures over time for improvements etc. My appointment was unsatisfactory, as all I have been told is to try Roaccutane. The doctor did not ask me to show my back, chest, did not read my list, did not look at pictures, seemed tired and keen on moving on to the next patient. I stayed in the office for about five minutes. Recommendations for topical creams were given as 'try X brand', nothing for my concern with scarring. I refused the treatment with Roaccutane and all I have been told is to keep taking antibiotics, haven't been told for how long, just to contact my GP. Overall, I am disappointed and I wish more questions were asked and more care was given since Roaccutane is a difficult treatment and not everyone is keen on taking it. A simple google search would have been more helpful than my visit to the dermatology.
