"RFA treatment at St James Hospital"

About: St James's University Hospital

(as the patient),

I have stage 4 bowel cancer, I was diagnosed over 3 years ago. I've had a number of operations over the last few years from chemo, to bowl, liver and lung resections. This is a long story cut short and although delays and 2 cancelled operations for my liver resection as a result of the administration side of the Leeds Teaching Hospital trust which I think unfortunately let the cancer have time to spread to my lungs, meaning I can no longer be cured, the surgeons, who have operated on me including my lung surgeon an Consultant Radiologist have been fantastic and have always been thorough and professional.

Dear Megz

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us.

I am very sorry to read that you feel delays with administration and treatment from Leeds Teaching Hospitals has led to your cancer spreading to your lungs. I can only imagine how distressing this must be and how hard it must have been to write this post.

The level of service that you have described is not what we wish to offer and we would like the opportunity to look into this for you in further detail.

I would appeal to you to contact the Trust’s Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS). This would also allow us look into the matters you have raised more thoroughly.

Please call our Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 206 6261 or alternatively email patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net.

Kindest Regards
