"Surgery under my foot and care after"

About: The Royal London Hospital / Dermatology

I had what was ment to be a minor surgery few weeks ago in the dermatology department. They told me it should be all healed in few weeks. It is now 5 weeks plus and my wound is still oozing blood. They have not given me a follow up appointment to check the wound which my doctor asked about many times but I told them the hospital havent said anything or sent anything. The dressing clinic they changed my bandage 1st gave wrong advice about how I should start walking on the wound just 1 week after. Which I did and it caused a infection which I went to my local gp and told the nurse doing my dressing then and they said I got given wrong advice and I should not be putting any pressure till its healed. They have also commented on why they have not given a follow up appointment to check the wound. The surgeon also said it was dissolvable stitches they used but when my local gp nurse checked and said no way was it dissolvable and had to be the ones to remove the stiches. I dont understand why a minor surgery couldn't be dealt with properly and it has now turned from a minor surgery to a disaster because I am still not able to walk on it at all and am on antibiotics for aswell.

We're sorry your experience at the hospital wasn't to the usual high standard we strive for on a daily basis.
