"Sub nural haematoma - life Saving surgery"

About: Southmead Hospital

Focused and intelligent treatment which seems to have done the job.

V complex and risky.

Staff at all levels were more than pleasant and caring.

They worked hard to get me out in for long journey to scotland. Fabulous building and facilities.

There is a one major failing - widely recognised by the staff involved in communication within and with the pharmacy dept.

Once a critical medication is approved by doctor it should not take even overstretched pharmacy 4 hours to produce the goods.

This is letting all the staff I encountered down badly.

Dear Mr Gordon,

Thank you for your kind comments relating to the life saving care that you received at Southmead Hospital.

Please be assured that your comments have been shared with the teams involved with your care.

With regards to the length of time for your medication to be ready from Pharmacy to take away following your discharge, again your comments have been fed back to the team for them to be aware of how this impacted on your overall stay.

Thank you again for your feedback which will be used to ensure where possible we can make improvements.

Yours sincerely, Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager.
