"A Brilliant Decision"

About: Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust / End of Life - Palliative Care

My partner recently died of pancreatic cancer in the Westminster. During the last days of his life he received the best care possible.. The nursing staff were absolutely brilliant and treated both him and his family with kindness and sensitivity. He had spent a lot of time in larger hospitals but this was very different: more personal, better continuity, more restful. We were so relieved and delighted to learn that the beds facility in the hospital is to be saved. We had feared the worst but this was the best possible news. It now remains for the community to support the hospital in every way possible. I hope to raise funds for it next year by walking 220 miles along The Hardy Way at the age of 81. Watch this space!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It is lovely to hear how well you felt the nursing staff had performed whilst treating your partner. I have forwarded your comments to the Matron at Westminster Memorial Hospital, who will share this with the staff - they will be pleased to hear such positive feedback.

With best wishes,

Matthew Cheetham, Patient Experience
