I fell badly at my niece's wedding in Wiltshire and went to the A&E in that area - after 5 hours I was sent away with no treatment for cuts, bruises, damaged hand and told to come back in a couple of days!
So somehow I managed to drive home and visited the PRH. From the minute I arrived the treatment and support I received was exceptional.
It turned out I had fractured a finger and everyone from the A&E reception to Fracture Clinic, X-Ray and Plaster Room could not have done more and to be honest I was amazed.
Within less than 2 hours everything was sorted out and since then I have visited Physiotherapy - who were also lovely.
I have healed very well.
I hate to think what would have happened if I had not been lucky enough to live in this area.
I doubt my hand would be working at all!
Not whoever reads this will think I am accident prone - which I am not really!
But on 19th September, I bumped into something and badly damaged my shin. This morning I turned up at A&E to ask for advice and within 15 minutes, a smashing nurse had washed and dressed my wound - which turned out to be rather nasty - and was sympathetic, efficient and very kind.
I never write reviews - but in this instance felt that it was so well deserved.
Hospitals are always being criticised when things go wrong.
This time I think they deserve to be commended for their service, treatment, attitude and kindness and it is something I will not forget.
The reason I felt compelled to write, which I never normally do, is that hospitals consistently receive negative remarks when things go wrong.
I thought it was time they were commended on getting something right for a change.
