"Ward 14 is very disappointing"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I woud agree with the review provided regarding Ward 14 which is categorised as a rehab ward.

However, there was little evidence of therapists, and there was no option for discussion.

My mother went to Ward 14 from a period of 3 weeks on another Ward.

However, from the moment she arrived the emphasis was on discharge.

The reason given that the process if Discharge to Assess.

I was so drained with mum's condition, and was glad she had some time in hospital, that I was glad to have her discharged if only to get her out of Ward 14.

I did have my apprehensions and, as it so happened, she was readmitted 3 days later full of infections and was admitted to Care of Elderly Ward which is fabulous.

Ward 14 could not even begin to compare to Ward 18.

The staf fon ward 14 are unfriendly, straight faced, and not at all approachable.

Mother also said they made her walk to the toilet on her own.

I was glad not to have to relate to the staff on Ward 14 for longer than I needed to.

The process of rehab was non existent and definitely did not involve the patient or family in talking about objectives, and in listening to fears and apprehensions.

Very poor service I am afraid.

Glad there is humanity, and that we are able to receive it on Ward 18.
