"Toddler group that I attend regularly is being cancelled."

I am a parent of a 22 month old little girl. I regularly attend my local childrens centre toddler group but have been told that the group is about to be cancelled. I am extremely disappointed to hear about this as the group has felt like a lifeline through some very difficult times. I have struggled with post natal depression since my little girl was born and as such have not been able to return to work at the present time. In the early days getting out to groups and meeting other mums helped to build my confidence again and to be honest kept me sane. Now I am feeling better and have made more friends at the groups it is a great opportunity for my little girl to play with her friends and interact with others. As I have not felt able to go back to work I would struggle to send her to nursery at the present time and there are very few free play toddler groups around. I want her to develop her confidence and skills interacting with others as I have had concerns with regards to ASD in the past and this group is the ideal opportunity to help do this.

The childrens centre group has been vital in helping me with my mental health journey and regularly seeing professionals and health care workers has helped to decrease my anxiety levels with regards to my little girls development, especially as we get so few health visitor visits now.
