About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Accident and emergency

From the moment I arrived at the busy A & E department, I was greeted with friendly and helpful staff on reception, being addressed as Darling by the reception staff was quite endearing.

It was 9.00am and the hospital is currently under a much need refit. The first doctor I meet was lovely, they oozed empathy and was very reassuring in professional and confident manner.

It wasn't long before I was assessed and blood samples taken. Then I meet a Doctor who made me feel that I was the only patient in the hospital, I had a CT Scan and an ECG. blood pressure was constantly checked by busy smiling nurses.

The Doctor introduced me to a charming consultant, that explained everything in laymans terms and provided me with options.

FINALLY, I met another Doctor who was incredible. The 10 minutes I spent with them, giving advice, signposting and talking non stop was to me the most valuable 10 minutes of 2017.

A massive thank you to you and all the staff, the kindness, empathy and professionalism I experienced will be a fond memory always.
