I visited t Mara Unit today for iron infusions. My appointment was 11.30,
I arrived at 11.10 and put 3 hours on the car at a pricey fee. I assumed that would be plenty time as I've had the procedure done before.
I reported to reception and was told to take a seat around the corner at a jam packed tiny waiting room. I was not sure if I had to see the consultant prior to the infusion as I've had the procedure before.
Last time I saw them they were obstructive and I had to insist the infusions went ahead as I had taken time off work for the appointment and was not prepared to mess the employers about. At 12.40 I was still sat in the same waiting room, everyone was complaining about not being seen. I was very irritated at the ridiculously long wait and worried about getting a parking ticket if I wasn't finished in time given that I hadn't even been seen yet.
I eventually got in for the infusion at 13.00 and I asked what would happen if I got a parking ticket because the first hour and fifty minutes of my appointment was spent sat in a waiting room. I was assured I'd be given a free parking ticket if it happened.
Not really impressed with the service as I should have been in and on the drip instead of sat in the waiting room. The infusion itself was connected at 13.15. Over two hours after arriving.
