"Knee replacement surgery"

About: Clifton Park Hospital

My overall stay in hospital was excellent. The staff who looked after me and treated were excellent at all times treating me with respect and dignity. I am a very nervous patient and on entering the pre theatre treatment area I was very anxious but all the staff (one anaesthetist and two theatre nurses) kept talking to me and distracting me whilst carrying out procedures. The nurse in recovery was the same, very caring and understanding. Back on the ward all the nurses were very attentive, caring and understanding. Nothing was too much trouble.

There was one issue which was out of the control of the nursing team. An ultra sound clinic had been set up in the room next to where myself and another lady were staying. The noise went on all day of doors opening and closing, people shouting names, furniture being moved etc. It was very difficult to sleep after surgery and even more so with all the noise going on.

This did not take away from the service that the nursing staff gave.

Thank you for your comments, I will ensure the team get the feedback you have praised them with. I will also ensure that the timings and location of any clinics are considerate to our patients
