Firstly I appreciate that the NHS is under pressure - I also appreciate the assistance provided - the staff are great, but the process ?
I attended as an A&E case on Friday 15th Sept. I interacted with 6 different people - Someone gave me a ticket , someone else then asked for my personal details , triage asked me what the problem was, someone carried out a rudimentary sight test , someone tested the pressure in my eyes and finally I was seen by a doctor. Is this really the most efficient way of treating people ? During my time waiting I heard a number of people asking how long they were going to be there for ? or how many people were in front of them. Whilst I appreciate it is an ever changing situation is it not possible to provide more details on where people are in queues ?
I know there is a screen that shows "waiting time" however it is not really indicative of what the true waiting time is. Also to alleviate some of the boredom of waiting how about having a TV on or radio.
"Efficient process ?"
