What I liked

On 13th. August, my mother, was taken to A & E from Kingsdown, near Deal, by two excellent paramedics, who considered that she may have had some sort of heart event. It turned out that she had indeed suffered some form of attack. From the moment the ambulance arrived, she was treated exceptionally well. The care in the hospital was outstanding and although she was allowed to leave the next day, she was given the necessary drugs, clear advice on next steps and treated with great care and respect. We would like to thank both the hospital and the paramedics for their professionalism, sense of humour and expertise all of which may well have saved my mother from a far worse fate. We would also like to thank the two volunteers from Deal who turned up in advance of the ambulance and administered oxygen and a good deal of calm in what was a rather confused situation. Our whole experience was excellent all-round and gave us even further faith in the National Health system. Thank you.

What could be improved

My mother did comment that she was tested repeatedly through the night. This was excellent and meant we could determine the extent of the problem. The only point she did make was that giving her address on numerous occasions and repeating the story of what had happened again and again for different nurses and doctors seemed a bit unnecessary since it had all been written down on the forms the first time. We appreciate that different professionals want their own views on the situation but perhaps hard detail, like addresses, dates of birth etc., could be read from the inital form.
