My two week old Grandchild had a high temperature and was taken to A & E by her parents. From the symptons she was presenting the medical team immediately took action to reduce her temperature and undergo all necessary tests for sepsis and meningitis. She was admitted to Tropical Lagoon ward and was discharged after 5 days. Throughout that time the care she was given and the support my daughter received was exemplary. The Doctors spent time explaining their actions and answering our questions. They made it very clear as to when results would be available and the implications . Enterovirus meningitis was diagnosed.
The nursing staff were exceedingly caring, supportive and nothing was ever too much trouble.
A follow up appointment was given for 2 days after discharge and again the Consultant was reassuring and arranged a hearing test to take place.
Whilst in hospital my daughter who was recovering from a c section found that her scar was causing her pain and her nurse arranged for her to be seen and treated with antibiotics within the hospital.
All other non medical staff on the ward were friendly approachable and helpful.
A big thank you to all staff at the hospital.
"The care given to my 2 week old grandchild."
