"FAO Surgeon and the staff on wards 220, 223 and..."

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital / Cardiology

I would like to express my gratitude towards one particular surgeon and the staff on wards 220, 223 and critical care. I was admitted into hospital on the 25th August to be informed that I would need open heart surgery to have my aortic valve replaced. Throughout my stay I was treated diligently even up to my final hours waiting to be discharged. The surgeon is a wonderful person who had a lot of time for me, their patients and even my family who they always made time to answer their questions and to reassure them no matter how busy they were. Without their skilled hands and steady nerve I would not be here today, saying thank you can not express how truely grateful I am to you.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent experience of our hospital- particularly after what I imagine would have been a very difficult time for you. I will ensure your lovely words are sent to the Senior Sisters on wards 220, 223 and Critical Care for them to share with their teams. I know they will very much appreciate receiving such wonderful feedback.

I do hope you are continuing to recover well from your surgery.

With best wishes

Rebecca Pilling, Quality Improvement Facilitator: Patient Experience.
