I have just left the hospital after almost 4 weeks.
I was admitted, via a 999 call, to A&E late one night and, due to the complexity of my condition spent time not just in A&E but 3 additional wards including 10 days in Intensive Care.
During this time I was sent, as an emergency, to Derriford Hospital where I received a life saving process.
I returned to NDH and back to the ICU before returning to the Victoria Ward for recovery and physiotherapy.
The care I received cannot be faulted, everyone was so wonderful not just to me but to my wife and children.
All the Doctors had time to explain to us exactly what was going on at all times.
The coordination between the NDH and Derriford, even over a bank holiday, was astonishing.
Things got done, tea was provided, comfort was given, my life was saved..........
Departments treated in:
A&E, MAU, Respiratory, Coronary, Intensive Care.
