"Cataract Surgery"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

My mother is 83-years old and severely disabled. She arrived for her pre-booked procedure and was seen by staff who conducted pre-eye surgery tests. This took approximately 1 1/4 hours. She then waited for a further 2 1/2 hours with little or no contact from staff. When she asked staff members what was happening, they were non-committal. The ambulance arrived to take her home and she duly left NOT having had the procedure she was booked for. She was angry and upset at the appalling way in which she was treated.
