Dear Sirs,
I would like to say thank you for the care and attention you gave to my husband, when he was admitted to A&E on Monday 4 September.
He came in by ambulance with suspected Sepsis Pneumonia and was immediately put on a saline drip and a paracetamol drip, blood tests were taken and a chest X-ray arranged. Later that evening, dependent upon the blood test results, he was prescribed the relevant intravenous antibiotics for pneumonia. The blood tests revealed that his blood was clear and that there was no sign of sepsis. He was eventually transferred to Loddon Ward.
The A&E staff were exceptionally busy for a Monday but retained their professionalism and humour.
The nursing staff in Loddon Ward regularly monitored his condition and the consultant informed us that he had a patch of pneumonia on his right lung and also an infection of the kidney.
All the staff were friendly and caring and would answer any questions we asked.
The head nurse in particular, maintained their humour and coped well with a sometimes grumpy patient!
He is now home, on tablet antibiotics, and follow up appointments are being arranged.
Thanks to all the staff for their professionalism, patience and, most of all, their humour.
The ward was clean. The food was not too great and the tea was very weak but the medical care was excellent which is the most important factor.
Best regards.
