"Outpatient experience"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital / Pain Management

I have now seen a Consultant twice here, having been referred by my principal consultant, a Consultant Dermatologist. I have been diagnosed with Brachioradial Pruritis.

The Consultant here prescribed an increasing level of medication, up to a plateau, followed by a review after 4 months. During this time I had to phone the department for advice due to side effects and was given excellent help from a colleague on steadily reducing my dosage so that I reached a point of balance between my symptoms and the side effects.

My second visit resulted in a good outcome regarding my medication and I have been given control of it, with an open door to come back to the Consultant here at any time.

I would like to express my thanks to the Consultant and the department for the kind, considerate, and above all professional way I have been treated.
