I was terrified. I don't do illness and I'm definitely a control freak. So I'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff who made my hip replacement such a positive experience. From the orthopaedics secretetary who was so patient and helpful pre op to the cheerful catering staff and the superb nursing team on Elmton ward. Particularly, thanks to my consultant who gave me a big hug pre op and said, " Come on, let's do it"

To the people who said, "The Royal really? " I say "Yes, yes, yes. Our NHS is superb and the orthopaedics department at the Royal Is excellent
