"Excellent facility, excellent staff"

About: Trafford General Hospital

Having entered the walk in centre at Trafford General I was dismayed to find a rather packed waiting room. I gave my details to the friendly reception staff and took a seat. To my amazement because of the nature of my injury ( a broken toe) I was triaged quickly and seen by a very friendly nurse. I was advised that there was probably a fracture bit to go to x-ray to be certain. I was advised where to go and was seen 20 mins later by the radiologist who was polite and efficient.

Having had the x-rays taken I was advised to head back to reception but that I had indeed broken my toe.

I headed back and queried waiting times to get results as I again noted the number of people waiting. I was advised that it would be quite quick. No sooner had I sat down then I was called to be seen by a nurse. This nurse again explained that my toe was broken and advised of the best course of action. I was also advised to head to the pharmacy across the road to obtain painkillers as it was cheaper. It is simple things like this that show that people care. Excellent caring attitude by all especially this nurse at the end. Thank you

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding the care you received on your attendance at the Walk in Centre/Urgent Care Centre, Trafford Hospital in September 2017.

It was very kind of you to write in recognition of the staff who work hard to ensure that patients are triaged and assessed as quickly as possible, ensuring patients injuries and medical conditions are attended to efficiently and effectively.

It was reassuring to hear that the nurse who attended to you offered a high level of patient care and that due to this your experience of the Trafford Hospital was a positive one. As we do are not able to identify the nurse who cared for you, your kind comments have been passed to the Urgent Care Centre Manager who will share them with all of the staff.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your comments and we hope your toe has healed.
