My 17 year old son has Down's Syndrome and was admitted to Day Surgery Unit at Monklands Hospital to have work done on his teeth and also have teeth removed.

Every member of staff within the day surgery unit was absolutely outstanding. Receptionist, nurses, dentist, anaesthetist every single person was amazing. Communication with my son can be difficult at times, but the staff took so much time to ensure he understood everything that was happening to him. I can not thank all staff enough for the amazing care that he received.

NHS Lanarkshire should be very very proud to have such amazing staff.

Dear JackieB

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience of the day unit at Monklands Hospital on Care Opinion, I am delighted and very proud to read that your Son's experience was so positive.

I know SCN Young and the team work extremely hard to put patients at ease and by explaining the procedure this not only makes the procedure easier it also aids recovery.

I hope you Son has now fully recovered from his procedure.
