"Gut obstruction x two"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Accident and emergency

I have had reason to be admitted recently to NGH a and e twice with an obstruction in my small intestine due to adhesions from colorectal surgery in 2003. On both occasions I was well looked after and spent a few nights on a ward till my extreme sickness stopped and resulting dehydration was addressed.

Though the underlying problem cannot be resolved without further surgery at least it is heartening that I have somewhere to go when this potentially serious problem occurs.
