I came into the opticians today with a HC3 form not fully understanding the form itself. Once I arrived a member of staff took the form and updated my details reading the form they told me my eye test would be free on the NHS and I would get money off my glasses because of the voucher.
I then saw the optician who also filled in that I would be covered under the NHS. Once the test was over a different member of staff took me downstairs and explained the different ways in which I could use the voucher.
A new member of staff, this being the 3rd different person I'd seen, took me to the side once I'd chosen my glasses to put everything through. They didn't understand the HC3 form at all and was fumbling around. I told them what the 2 other people had told me but they still didn't understand. A 4th member of staff then came over who understood the form and said I'd have to pay for my eye test and that I'd have to pay the full price for my glasses as well.
I'm currently a student and obviously don't have this money just to be wasting.
Complete confusion seeing so many different people none of them really know what was going on and I think because of this I lost the discount which I was entitled to. Extremely upset and annoyed at this experience and I won't be returning to Specsavers ever again!!
