"Indifferent discharge"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Accident and emergency

Elderly father, 91, was admitted with a very large infected wound on his foot. After spending a good part of the day at the hospital he was taken home in an ambulance arriving at his care home at 11pm.

The wound was not dressed and completely uncovered. Appalled that firstly, they discharged him so late and secondly, they left an infected wound uncovered.

Total indifference about care - are the elderly just dispensed with because they are old.
