"My experience as a patient having an ENT procedure"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

I was recently a patient at Monklands hospital having had an operation on my nose and had to stay overnight in ward 9.

I was very nervous and anxious at the thought of having a general anaesthetic for my operation and having to stay overnight in hospital.

I would just like to thank everyone who made a very anxious time that bit easier. Both the anaesthetic doctors Laura and Susan, the theatre nurses Pauline, Laura and (there was a nurse with Laura but I was so nervous I am sorry I cannot remember her name). And the nurses who looked after me in recovery and settled me into ward 9, you were all very caring and understanding, thank you all you were fantastic.

Thanks also to all the nurses in ward 9, you were all amazing and made a very dreaded overnight stay in hospital as pleasant as it could be post op.

Thank you Mr Balaji, I am delighted with the results of my operation, my breathing is amazing. I really appreciated you coming to check on me back in the ward post op and keeping me up to date with my post op care. Thanks everyone.

Dear VicB

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your stay in Ward 9 following your ENT procedure..

I am aware how daunting it can be coming in for surgery and I am pleased that the staff involved in your care were able to ease your anxiety and make this as pleasant an experience for you as possible.

The Anaesthetists and staff within theatres and Ward 9 will be pleased with your feedback and I will make sure that this is passed on to them. Mr Balaji will also be pleased that you are recovering well from your surgery and finding such an improvement in your breathing.

With best wishes for your continued recovery

Lynn McTavish
