I took my mum to the emergency department on 7/9/17 after she sustained a fall. She had several bruises & lacerations, but also a dislocation of her index finger with an open wound.
We were promptly triaged by the nursing team who were very professional & compassionate.
She was then assessed by one of the ED consultants who was very thorough & kind. She very soon had an X-ray which confirmed the dislocation, & an ED advanced nurse practitioner treated the dislocation & the post procedure Xray looked as if there had never been a dislocation!
We stayed in the Surgical Assessment Unit where the nurses were caring & observed my mum's condition consistently. Subsequently she was treated by the plastic surgery on call team who thoroughly washed, examined & stitched the open wound, & applied a splint. My mum has already received a plastics department review appointment.
I cannot say how grateful I am for the service we received. We could not have been treated better & I would recommend all of the healthcare team we came across to anyone in need of medical assistance. Thank you very much!
