"Exemplary Care after Hysterectomy- Brunel Ward"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Gynaecology

I had a hysterectomy on the 1st August,. From the time of admission to the ward through to recovery to my stay in the ward I felt my treatment was excellent. In recovery - I had some spasm pain and the nurses and doctors dealt with this immediately so that I was in minimal pain and provided me with a morphine pump so I would not be in pain on the ward. My two nurses that took care of me were wonderful - kind and caring and did everything to help my comfort. I have stayed in private hospital 2 years ago for a myomectomy and I can say that my surgery and care were actually better at Kings with nurses coming to my bed as soon as I pressed my buzzer. Also the lead consultant came to see me every morning at 8 pm so I felt really cared for. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable with just one other bay beside me. I recommend this ward very highly. Thank you so much!

Firstly, I do hope that you are recovering well from your operation.

Secondly, thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your experience on Brunel Ward. It is great to hear that the care was so good form the nurses and doctors, to the cleanliness of the room.

Many thanks again and I will be sure to pass on your comments to the Ward Manager.
