"Tumour Ablation Treatment"

About: St James's University Hospital

(as the patient),

I had a 3. 5 cm tumour on my left kidney, the treatment involved inserting numerous needles into the tumour and sending an electric current down them to electrocute the tumour. The procedure is carried out by Dr Wah the consultant radiologist, under general anaesthetic and isn't unduly painful the hospital stay is usually 3 days although I was kept in for 5 days due to my kidney being hydrated. 3 months later and the tumour has completely disappeared.

I cannot compliment the hospital and staff enough for the treatment I have received whilst in their care and would recommend this treatment to anyone who needs it.
