"The Cedars Centre,My Perspective :)"

Ok,I've been a service user at The Cedars Centre now,for a very long time indeed,as I'm a chronic depressive, with associated anxiety neuroses & an additional diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder,so I have to contend with these labels despite me despising them fundamantally, but as a former worker for the NHS/Social Services Partnership Trust,in countywide day centres as an officer there,at 2 former city/county based residential rehabilitation hostels (Adult Mental Health),and as a past temp/casual Intensive Community Support Worker at one of the counties other CMHT's,where I spent 10 months covering a staff member's maternity leave,I can fully understand/accept the reason for clinical labels as of course these are necessary for service users correct treatment to be maintained,&/or altered as is necessary by their wider care team,as well as these helping continue a steady funding stream too, which is absolutely necessary of course. So,I guess I'm a bit of an anomaly, where the definition of a standard service user is concerned,my having worked extensively as a former mental health specialist too for the department, but I've always found this invaluable where discussing, helping develop and maintaining a steady care package for me to receive from my Consultant Psychiatrist when I attend my outpatients appointments at a local satellite clinic, the Lutterworth Hospital outpatients dept, which is a service set up and run by my Wigston based CMHT,the Cedars Centre, providing a rural drop-in to see our speclalist locally, rather than have to travel right across the county to get to Wigston,so having to then rely on using a bus service which isn't always on time.So the Outreach Clinic at Lutterworth's a very useful and invaluable one indeed.I'm generally fairly happy with the treatment my CMHT is able to provide,I'm not however best pleased with us service users often having to deal with a string of locum, junior registrar's & occasional temp.members of staff, despite my knowing full well thet they are all adequately trained, experienced, qualified and commited to their roles at any given time they see us on an outpatient basis,it's just that I struggle with having to reiterate my whole life story, and current mental health status again, with yet another member of staff I know isn't permanent with the depertment at the Cedars Centre,so I hope that the NHS as a whole will take time to seriously consider the feedback we patients are providing here, and will strive to ensure that this isn't something which will continue indefinately,as it really is quite disconcerting at times,to many of us I'm sure,so doesn't bode well in our trying to stay as well as we're able on a consistent basis where our psychiatric care's concerned at all. However, aside from this negative aspect of how I see the CMHT and services provided there,I'm otherwise ok with the service I receive from there,& I wholly applaud the admin team & their manager too,an invaluable assett indeed.
