"The staff on the ETC were very helpful..."

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

What I liked

The staff on the ETC were very helpful and friendly and always polite and courteous. The whole unit seemed to work very well, from checking in at 7:00am to being discharged the following day around midday.

The treatment received was excellent and I did feel I was looked after very well.

The doctors and nurses always had time to listen to my quetions and if they couldn't provide the answer themselves, they always found someone who could provide the answer for me.

I feel the nursing staff made it a pleasurable a visit as possible.

What could be improved

The only problems I had were that after surgery, you had to ask for assistance to go the the washrooms. I asked, but then it took about 20 minutes for someone to actually help me. It's a good job I wasn't desperate!

Also, I had oral surgey and had stitches inside my mouth. I was unable to open my mouth wide enough to fit a tablesppon in so with breakfast I asked for a teaspoon so I could eat some weetabix. I was told they only had 2 teapsoon so I couldn't have one! Another patient who had brought in her own cutlery, kindly lent me hers.
