"Outpatient clinic problem"

About: Victoria Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I booked into reception and was told to make my way to waiting area 1 however on my letter it stated waiting area 5. I pointed out this to receptionist and they directed me to waiting area 5

My appointment was for 11. 00 am and I arrived there at 10. 45. By 11. 20 was wondering If I was in the right place as there was nobody about and the notice board stated it was an orthopaedic clinic clearly NOT what I was looking for (my appointment was for bowel screening) Managed to contact someone who directed me to waiting room 1 but when I approached a member of staff it was clear I was not on their list of patients.

I was advised to make my way back to waiting area 5. I finally saw an appropriate nurse at 12. 10. I was not a happy person. A few simple steps could have made my visit to the clinic a lot less stress free as I was on the verge of giving up and going home. I would probably judged wrong in my decision although the fiaco was not down to me personally.
